  • Educational History:
I graduated from Cyril High School in Cyril, OK, in 1998. I went on to attend college right after high school. During my junior year of college, 9/11 happened. I made the decision to join the military. During a martial arts training exercise, I was injured and suffered nerve damage in my right leg. Shortly thereafter, I was discharged. After my discharge, I came home to be with my family. I eventually enrolled in Cameron University and finished my degree. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and a minor in Education in 2005.

I graduated from East Central University with my Masters of Education in School Counseling in December of 2022.

  • Current Position:
I came to Cement High School as a long term substitute in 2012. I loved the students and the staff so much, that when I was offered a full time positon, I knew I had to accept the positon immediately. I became the High School English teacher that day in 2012 and completed my last year as the English teacher this past spring. I am now the School Counselor for grades PK-12, and I am very excited for this new journey.

    Previous Position:
Cement has been my first and only teaching position. I would not have it any other way. Prior to coming to Cement, I was a social worker for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. I would say that my former career has had a major impact on my teaching experience. I am able to connect with the students on a different level and offer a different perspective on situations due to my background.

  • Family Information:
I am happily married to my husband, Matthew. In December, we will be married for 17 years. I am also a proud mother to two wonderful children.

  • Personal Information:
I love to read, spend time with my family, and be outdoors. I love to hunt, fish, go camping, and ride our UTV. My favorite time of year is winter and I absolutely love the mountains. The mountains are my happy place.
